1.       Desire the word

1Peter 2:2 “As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may GROW thereby”

Just as babies survive and grow as they feed on the milk daily, born again Christians must survive and grow by daily feeding on the word of God.

Deuteronomy 8:3 “So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD.”

2.       You must have a daily quiet time to read your Bible

It’s a daily time you keep with the Lord. It’s personal, where you read the Bible and pray.

Joshua 1:8 “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”

3.       Be determined to be a doer of the word

As a Christian you must fully obey every aspect of the word of God. Our lives must change in accordance to what the Bible says.

James 1:21-25”Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.”
